  1. I love these lines as well - pure Whitman! Everywhere he looks, and perhaps more importantly, everything he feels, he senses God. God has caressed everything as well and all is holy. And yet he freely admits he does not understand God. But he is not worried about that - he does not spend his time concerned about sin or heaven and hell. To be here now, to gaze at a morning glory as he lounges, is better than to dive into a book of philosophy or religion. You have to love the ending of those two lines - celebrating himself once again!
